Poor monitoring of patients with glaucoma

An investigation by the Healthcare Safety Investigation Branch says that hospital eye services don’t have sufficient capacity to meet demand for glaucoma services, and that better, smarter ways of working should be implemented to make best use of available capacity.

The report highlights innovative measures implemented by some trusts that have reduced the risk, but argues that good practice is yet to be implemented more widely.
