NHS funding transfer to local authorities

The Department of Health has written to the NHS Commissioning Board with provisional information on the transfer of £859m in 2013/14 to from the NHS to local authorities

This funding was previously announced as part of the spending review and in the care and support white paper. It must support adult social care services in each authority, which also has a health benefit. The local authority and CCGs must agree together how to use the money. The letter describes the conditions of the transfer and allocation to each local authority.
