NHS Digital hopes to improve data transfers for commissioners

NHS Digital is working with CCGs, providers and data services for commissioners regional offices (DSCROs) to improve local data transfers.

The data landing portal (DLP) seeks to replace local email data transfers between providers and commissioners by using a secure, centrally managed system. DLP enables data recipients to check the status of a data transfer, removes the risk of sensitive information being sent to incorrect recipients, and supports standardisation. NHS England has included use of DLP for specialised commissioning in the 2017/18 NHS standard contract.
