New integrated urgent care/NHS 111 career framework and job descriptions

A new career framework has been developed by Health Education England and NHS England to support the national service specification for integrated urgent care services.

This offers clearly defined roles, supported by competency-based job descriptions and person specifications for roles at Skills for Health Levels 2 to 7. This standardised approach will help providers recruit, develop and retain a professional IUC/NHS 111 workforce, with the right skills and competencies, and provide staff with opportunities for career development. A new edition of the framework covering Skills for Health Levels 2-9 will be released in 2018. For more information, please contact: england.workforcedevelopment111@nhs.net
