New guidance for CCGs on the prescribing of liothyronine
The regional medicines optimisation committees have published new guidance on prescribing liothyronine following recent advice on medicines that should not routinely be prescribed in primary care.
This new guidance sets out the criteria determining which liothyronine may be prescribed, and provides clear advice on how commissioners, GPs and NHS consultants can work together to ensure use of liothyronine is clinically appropriate and patient treatment is safe and effective.
