National adult asthma audit programme

The national adult asthma audit launched on the 1 November 2018 across England, Scotland and Wales. To date, 156 hospitals have registered to participate.

This audit will collect data on patients admitted to hospital for an asthma attack, highlighting variations in care and areas for improvement. To facilitate quality improvement, participating hospitals will be provided with run charts for key indicators measured in the asthma audit from 2019. These will provide hospitals with data in real-time, with performance benchmarked against national averages. The first national, patient and site level reports will be published in autumn 2019.
