Managing conflicts of interest – some CCGs are still falling through the cracks

18 months ago NHS England published revised guidance on managing conflicts of interest. A recent audit revealed that compliance with the guidance could be improved in several areas.

NHS England has published a best practice update to highlight areas for improvement.

Online resources can help, but there are no hand-books, rules or algorithms that can be guaranteed to give the “right” answers. Managing conflicts is a discipline requiring judgement, insight and the ability to evaluate risk. PCC runs sessions that enable CCG boards to talk through scenarios with colleagues to develop the capabilities they need to manage potential conflicts.
