Integration opportunities of joint £3.8bn health and care fund
The £3.8bn Better Care Fund earmarked for joint spending by the NHS and local authorities presents a significant opportunity as well as a number of risks, according to a new report from the King’s Fund.
Although there is no new money in the pooled budget (formerly known as the Integration Transformation Fund), rising demand on services, pressure on funding and the need for radical approaches to long-term conditions and care of the elderly means agencies have a bigger incentive than ever to work together.
