Implementing the 2016/17 GP contract

The head of primary care policy and contracts at NHS England has written to regional and local heads of primary care and accountable officers of CCGs with delegated authority for primary care to advising them of the guidance available for implementing the 2016/17 GP contract, which takes effect on 1 April.

The letter reminds commissioners of the need to ensure that changes to the general medical services (GMS) contract are applied consistently to the other primary care medical services, namely personal medical services (PMS) and alternative provider medical services (APMS).
