Impact of the spending review on health and social care
This report reviews the impact of the government spending review on health and social care. It reveals the scale of the funding challenge and that, while spending on health is increasing, the service is under strain and struggling to meet rising demand.
The report also highlights the change in definition of health spending in the 2015 spending review. It argues that using the original definitions, the total health spending will increase by £4.5 billion in real terms by 2021, rather than £8.4 billion.
