Hunt admits failure of breast screening programme may have ‘shortened’ 270 lives
Jeremy Hunt has told parliament that failures in the national breast screening programme may have shortened the lives of 270 women with breast cancer.
The secretary of state for health and social care has ordered a review. Faulty computer software has been blamed for the failure to invite women for screening as they reached 70.
