HEE urges GP practices to consider physician associates

Health Education England is encouraging GP practices to consider employing physician associates to plug holes in the workforce left by the shortage of qualified GPs.

A blog by Professor Simon Gregory, primary care lead at Health Education England explains what practices can expect from the role. A physician associate is a graduate who has undertaken postgraduate training and works under the supervision of a doctor.
