Hearing loss and healthy ageing

The Ear Foundation has been a key member of the Living well with hearing loss working group, co-producing guidance to support the implementation of the NHS England and Department of Health Action Plan on Hearing Loss (2015).

As a result it has produced a Hearing Loss and Healthy Ageing guide.

Melanie Gregory, chief executive, says: "The guide is crucial in informing public and private service providers, commissioners and employers on the best ways to ensure they meet the needs of those with hearing loss at different stages in their lives.

"CCGs have a legal duty to pay careful attention to reducing health inequalities under the Health & Social Care Act 2012 in terms of access to services and the outcomes achieved through the delivery of those services."
