Guide for parents and guardians to new statutory child death reviews

The Department of Health and Social Care has published statutory and operational guidance for child death review.

This guidance sets out, in detail, expectations for the review of all deaths of children under 18 years of age from whatever cause.  The guidance will be of interest to CCGs and local authorities, both of which are child death review “partners”. NHS England has now published advice for families on coping with the death of a child, which summarises the new review process.
