Guidance on publishing equality objectives

NHS Employers has published guidance that aims to assist NHS organisations in preparing their equality objectives ahead of the 6 April 2012 deadline.

The guidance has been produced in partnership with the Department of Health and the Equality and Human Rights Commission.  

The Equality Act (Specific Duties) Regulations 2011 (Section 3) require NHS organisations to publish at least one specific and measurable equality objective that they think will achieve the aims of the general equality duty by 6 April 2012, and at least every four years after that.
