The interdisciplinary group for stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation (iSPAF), part of the London stroke clinical network, has just published guidance on anticoagulant care, which describes the components of an excellent service.

High quality anticoagulation services are seen as a priority to ensure that patients at high risk of stroke are optimally protected to prevent ischaemic stroke, avoid adverse events related to anticoagulant treatment and to ensure that patients are supported with choice, education, access and adherence to treatment.
