Guidance for accountable clinicians and informed patients

The Association of Medical Royal Colleges has produced guidance for “accountable clinicians”.

The creation of this role follows the Francis inquiry, which identified a need for named clinician to be responsible for a patient's care whilst in hospital. The guidance was developed with medical royal colleges, regulatory bodies and professional bodies.
