Green guidance for health and social care

The NHS is making great strides to reduce its carbon footprint and mitigate its impact on the environment.

But the DH is warning health and social care organisations that they also need to adapt to climate change. Climate change is recognised as the biggest public health threat this century, it says in the introduction to new guidance produced by the DH and several other government departments.

The guidance describes climate change adaptation and explains why it is a priority for the NHS and how organisations can include it in their sustainable development management plans.
