From primary care networks to integrated care systems

The NHS Long Term Plan puts primary care at the heart of plans for integrated care systems (ICS). Primary care networks (PCNs) will be the building blocks for general practice to work at neighbourhood level with other community based services.

Primary care networks will be underpinned by contractual arrangements and funding, but will these really enable PCNs to be at the heart of ICS? This workshop on 15 May in Birmingham will help you understand the components of the new system architecture and how it is likely to fit together. We will hear from a leading lawyer about the essentials PCNs need to get started, GPs from NHS Dudley CCG who will share learning from their journey towards integrated care, and from a GP partner who has supported many GP practices to work at scale.
