Fall in assault hospital admissions for England highlights north-south divide
Hospital admissions due to assault in England were nearly three per cent lower in the period April 2010 to March 2011 compared to the previous 12 month period, according to the NHS Information Centre.
Figures also show that in general the proportion of admissions due to assault was higher in the north of the country than in the south, although London had the highest proportion of admissions due to assaults by sharp object.
