Developing collective leadership for health care

The King’s Fund has published a paper about the role of leadership in developing “caring cultures”.

This King’s Fund paper argues for collective leadership as opposed to command-and-control structures. Collective leadership entails distributing and allocating leadership power to wherever expertise, capability and motivation sit within organisations. The paper is accompanied by results of a survey of NHS managers and clinicians, which received over 2,000 responses.
