Commissioners ignore social value law

Nearly nine out of ten CCGs can produce no evidence that they observe the Social Value Act.

Only 13% of CCGs can clearly show that they are actively committed to pursuing social value in their procurement and commissioning decisions. A report from National Voices argues that social value is vital to achieving the Five Year Forward View’s aim of creating a “new relationship with people and communities” and establishing accountable care organisations.
