Clinical commissioners urged to recognise ‘social value’

The NHS Alliance has published a paper urging clinical commissioners to consider ‘social value’ when commissioning community health and social care services.

The paper argues that while the Social Value Act may be thought a weak obligation, clinical commissioners have a duty to consider its implications in their work.
