Changes to clinical pharmacy criteria

GP practices will find it easier to apply for the clinical pharmacists in general practice programme following the relaxation of criteria.

Providers covering a population of 15,000 will be able to make an application for a whole time equivalent clinical pharmacist – previously this had been 30,000. Clinical pharmacists will be able to apply on a 0.5 whole time equivalent basis. The approval process for applicants will be also be streamlined. The changes will take effect from 23 October 2018. For more information on applying for the scheme visit the NHS England website.
