Changes proposed to pharmacy regulation

The General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) aims to become the principal regulator responsible for pharmacy inspections.

In its proposals, the GPhC will be responsible for inspections, except in certain circumstances. Agreements between the GPhC and the other regulators and authorities are due to be published by the end of this financial year.

As part of the development of the policy, a partial impact assessment has been published which gives estimates of the costs and benefits of introducing the policy.
