Bones and Joint Week – 12-20 October 2017

NHS England, Public Health England and the Arthritis and Musculoskeletal Alliance are collaboratively supporting Bone and Joint Week to improve awareness of bone, joint and muscle health at a national and local level, and to tackle the enormous impact of Musculoskeletal (MSK) conditions on individuals and society.

MSK conditions affect one in four of the adult population, and more years are lived with MSK disability than any other long term condition. There are a number of resources available to support commissioners with MSK service development, including Providing physical activity preventions for people with musculoskeletal conditions which includes a checklist to support mapping of local physical activity provision, and case studies of services that support people with MSK conditions to be physically active. There are also a number of MSK resources on the NHS England website.
