Barriers to employment for black disabled people with sickle cell disorder

The Sickle Cell Society and OSCAR Sandwell conducted two focus groups and interviewed 47 adults living with sickle cell disease (SCD) in London, the Midlands and the north of England about their experiences in work and employment.

They have co-produced a Guide to Sickle Cell Work and Employment. The guide includes a worker’s individual support plan (WISP) to help employers and employees understand the reasonable adjustments required.
