Asset-based community development to support your primary care network

Social prescribing link workers will play a pivotal role in connecting primary care networks (PCNs) with the existing groups and services that support their patients’ wellbeing at community level.

For social prescribing to work well, a collaborative approach to working with partners and communities is needed, including further community development. This event in Manchester on 11 September will help you to use learning from asset-based community development (ABCD) approaches to identify how PCNs can enable local people to become active partners in their own health and wellbeing, supporting each other in your neighbourhood. Speakers, including Cormac Russell, who has pioneered ABCD in more than 30 countries, will explain the ABCD concept and how it can support primary care networks, share examples of where it has been done well, and give practical advice and implementation tips to all those involved in developing PCNs.
