An introduction to new roles in general practice for practice staff

Thursday, 8 April 2021

One of the success factors to embed new roles in practices is making sure that existing staff understand the change and can support implementing the new patient pathways.

This three hour virtual workshop for practice staff offers an overview of primary care networks (PCNs) and introduces delegates to the additional specialist roles being recruited by PCNs, via the additional roles recruitment scheme (ARRS). The skills and expertise each role can offer into general practice is outlined and delegates are encouraged to take on a champion role to help welcome new professionals into general practice.  They will be encouraged to think practically about how to share information about the new roles with both colleagues and patients; and discuss how best to embed the new roles.  These sessions are ideal for team leaders, to support embedding the new roles being recruited via the ARRS into general practices.
