Following the success of last year's meeting in Bournemouth, we are pleased to announce for the second time the Vascular Society, Society of Vascular Nurses and the Society for Vascular Technology are working together to bring you one single integrated event – The Vascular Societies’ Annual Scientific Meeting.

 

This year's meeting is taking place from the 30th November - 2nd December 2016, at the Manchester Central Convention Complex, and features expert speakers who will deliver engaging sessions on the latest in vascular education and research.

 

The Programme:

 

With an exciting and comprehensive programme on offer, this year's conference features specialist sessions for Vascular SurgeonsVascular Nurses and Vascular Scientists, and also includes debates, masterclasses, oral abstracts, company symposia, workshops and access to a large industry exhibition. 

Vascular Surgeon session highlights include the "President’s Symposium: Fifty Years of the Vascular Society – and fifty more!" with Mike Wyatt and Rob Sayers chairing. This year’s "Kinmonth Lecture" will be chaired by Peter Lamont and delivered by Cliff Shearman on "Changing the world – feet first"

Thursday's Vascular Nurse highlights include: "Nursing Research""Carotid Disease""Avoidable Harm in Vascular Patients", and "Thoracic disease".

In addition, Vascular Scientist highlights on Thursday include: a comprehensive programme of scientific presentations as well as vascular scientist trainee Research Proposals. Further highlights include guest lectures on "Limb Reattachment Surgery" by Mr Jason Wong and talks from SOR on "Professional Issues and Indemnity and Pensions""The Jackie Walton lecture" is on "Wilderness and Expedition Medicine" which will be presented by Professor Chris Imray. There will also be an update on "Professional Issues" with Reports from members of the SVT Executive.
