NHS England and NHS Improvement made a commitment in the update to the GP contract agreement to support registered health care professionals to become practice partners. The aim of the agreement was to increase the number of partners, stabilising the partnership model and helping to increase clinicians’ participation levels so that primary care and the patients it serves have access to the workforce they need.

In response to this commitment we have developed two sessions to help delegates understand the legal implication of being a practice partner. Our two half day virtual sessions will provide partners with an opportunity to find out about and discuss the sometimes complex issues that face partners of practice practices.

The agenda covers the following topics:

Session one

Partnership law and common issues in partnership agreements
Understanding primary care contracts
HR issues for partners.

Session two

Estates issues for partners
Data protection issues for partners
Legal perspective of working collaboratively.

The sessions will be led by healthcare law specialists Hill Dickinson and include time for delegates to explore specific issues they face or are concerned about. The sessions are aimed at those who are considering becoming partners in practices, new partners and also existing partners who want to gain a deeper understanding of the legal responsibilities of the role.
