A year has passed since local Healthwatch (LHW) became the champion for health and social care, assuming responsibility for public health, amongst other health services, and providing a local voice for patients.
As LHW celebrates its first anniversary, has it managed to enhance the quality of care and services for patients? How can practitioners across health and social care look to integrate their services more effectively to ensure long-term success for their local community through this organisation?

Su Turner, Principal Consultant, Centre for Public Scrutiny
Ruth Marsden, Vice Chair, Healthwatch and Public Involvement Association
