Personalised medicine is estimated to grow to two billion euros by 2018.
Re-Distributed Manufacturing (RDM) has the potential to support this growth.
This involves making products outside a centralised factory enabling faster
response, lower cost or better preservation of sensitive goods. RDM can
provide tailored, right-first-time treatments to all patients, allowing for
the best therapy for an individual patient to be rapidly determined.
The event is run by the Re-Distributed Manufacturing in Healthcare Research
Network (RiHN). By attending this event, you will have the opportunity to
influence future R&D directions and shape a call for 5 feasibility studies
worth up to £65k each. It will include a workshop, likely to be focused
around medical devices, diagnostics and dentistry. RiHN will host a second
workshop (TBC) around pharmaceuticals and advanced therapeutics.
