Delegates at this seminar will consider next steps for prevention and treatment of diabetes.

Planned sessions focus on progress made by NHS England, Clinical Commissioning Groups and local authorities in preventing diabetes, the future for paediatric care, and the potential impact of the NHS Innovation Challenge on enhancing the quality of life for people with diabetes.

Discussion will be informed by Public Health England's pledge in its five year strategy to develop a preventive programme for diabetes, and recent NICE guidance which recommends weight loss surgery for patients with recent-onset type 2 diabetes.

We are delighted to include at this seminar keynote addresses from Professor Jonathan Valabhji, National Clinical Director for Obesity and Diabetes, NHS England; Professor David Colin-Thomé, Chairman, Primary Care Commissioning and Chair, Diabetes Exchange Network; Stewart Doyle, Health Improvement Specialist (Physical Activity), County Durham and Darlington NHS Foundation Trust; Paul Sterriker, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Centres for Diabetes Care; Bridget Turner, Director of Policy and Care Improvement, Diabetes UK; Jamie Waterall, National Lead, NHS Health Check Programme, Public Health England and a senior speaker confirmed from AstraZeneca.
