Next steps for child development policy - supporting parents, integrating reviews of health and learning progress, and improving children's 'school-readiness'

Guests of Honour: Jim Addison, Assistant Director, Early Years Curriculum and Teaching, Department for Education and Flora Goldhill, Director, Children, Families & Maternity and Health Inequalities, Department of Health

Timed around Government's consultation on integrating health checks and the Early Years progress check, this seminar will focus on a range of key issues around child development.

Delegates will discuss implementation challenges around the proposed combined reviews, as Government prepares to introduce them from 2015. Further sessions will focus on the support available for parents and the outcomes of its two-year CANparent trials, as well as concerns around how 'school-ready' some children are upon leaving the Early Years Foundation Stage.

The conference will bring together policymakers and regulator officials with key stakeholders involved in child development, including Early Years practitioners, health visitors, local authority representatives, health and wellbeing boards, child psychologists, Family Nurse Partnerships, professional associations, academics and primary school leaders.
