The content of the National Conference for DIABETES MEDICINES OPTIMISATION has been coordinated by the UKCPA Diabetes Specialist Interest Group in conjunction with the Editorial Team

from  the Journal of Medicines Optimisation (JoMO) whose parent organisation launched the first ever National Conference on Medicines Optimisation in London in 2012 www.pharmannationalforum.co.uk.

CINES OPTIMISATION

The UKCPA is a Partner Organisation with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and the Pharmacy Management Group is an Accredited Supplier of Education for the Faculty of the Royal

Pharmaceutical Society so this major event will be Accredited for Professional Development.

 

Who will be attending?

The Conference will have a multi-disciplinary audience which will include will include Senior Hospital Pharmacists, Commissioning Pharmacists in CCGs and CSUs, Procurement Pharmacists, Specialist

Clinical Pharmacists, Practice Based Pharmacists, Community Pharmacists, Commercial Providers and the Pharmaceutical Industry. In addition, there will be Commissioners of Medicines, GPs and Nurses invited to attend.

 

The UKCPA will be actively promoting this event through its members and JoMO will be devoting Editorial Coverage, as will the Journal of Pharmacy Management. It is anticipated that there will be

an audience of around 400 with 300 delegates being from the NHS.

 

Content and format of the day

The format of the day will follow the very successful approach taken by both organisations in the past at conferences by utilising Satellite Sessions. Throughout the day there will be in the region of 25 one-hourSatellite Sessions. These will be divided into 4 streams to ensure that delegates have maximum choice and flexibility to encourage attendance, participation and learning opportunities. Delegates will be able to select any satellites from any stream to meet their own needs with some streams potentially having more than 1 simultaneous Satellite.

 

The 4 streams will be as follows:

1. Acute / Secondary Care

2. Community Care

3. Across the Interface / Service development

4. Education & Training for Staff and Patients
