BILD Annual Conference 2015, 9 October, Birmingham

BILD's Annual Conference is always a vibrant and thought-provoking event where BILD members and many others come together to address the big issues in the field of learning disabilities and hear about new ideas and good practice approaches that can inform their own work.

At this year's conference, key speakers will address some of the most important issues for people with learning disabilities and their families and for those providing support - what are the right kind of support services for the future, what do we need to do now to develop them, and how do we build an inclusive society for people with learning disabilities?

Practice-based workshops will highlight the work of those who won at the 2015 National Learning Disabilities and Autism Awards, and others. These will demonstrate innovative ways of delivering support centred on the needs and wishes of the person being supported; how we need to invest in the right skills and values, both in services, and in the staff providing the support, and feature projects that empower people with learning disabilities to take more control in their lives.
