Introduction to Clinical Research
Clinical research is at the heart of clinical practice, but it relies on the input from a wide range of professional groups for its success. This workshop is designed for those who are new to clinical research and especially those who do not have a health sciences background. It consists of a series of short lectures interspersed with practical activities, which will explore the world of clinical research answering questions such as: What is clinical research? Why do we need research? What is a clinical trial? What roles do different professional groups play in clinical research?
Overall, the workshop is designed as an introductory session for new staff and students, and may be used as a preliminary course for those wishing to go on to attend the courses on:
