The theme of this year's conference is “From here to eternity (protecting the patients of the future)" and includes the following sessions:

 

  • The role, scope and expectations of the Care Quality Commission (CQC)
  • How clean is clean: Martin Kiernan, Clinical Fellow, Richard Wells Research Centre, University of West London
  • The importance of the environment in infection prevention & control
  • How the language that we use, drives behaviour: Julie Storr, Social Media Coordinator & Steering Group Member HIFA and Claire Kilpatrick
  • Managing an outbreak of Campylobacter in a mental health unit: Penny Criddle, Senior IP&C Nurse Specialist, Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Trust/ Devon Partnership Trust
  • Improving sepsis care: Leigh Beard, Resuscitation Officer, Yeovil District Hospital
  • Coughs and sneezes and TB: lessons learnt from a community outbreak: Dr Sarah Harrison, Deputy Director of Health Protection, Public Health England South West Centre
  • What can nurses & the wider healthcare community (dentists & vets) do to reduce AMR?: Dr Rob Porter, Consultant Microbiologist, Royal Devon & Exeter NHS Trust

 

This day will be of interest to infection prevention and control practitioners, ward nurses, domestic/ housekeeping practitioners, link nurses or anyone with an interest in infection prevention and control.
