Despite a pledge to recruit more midwives and improve maternity services, official figures show only a modest increase in the number of midwives recruited in the NHS. This event will explore the changing shape of maternity services and the Government’s approach to improving maternity care in the face of a long-standing shortage of midwives expected to last into the mid-2020s.

How can maternity services deliver improved outcomes cost-efficiently? What are the key challenges for midwives and how can we attract more recruits to the profession? And how can we ensure new babies and their parents receive the care and support they need across the UK?

Confirmed to Speak:
Professor Cathy Warwick, CBE Chief Executive, Royal College of Midwives
Belinda Phipps, Chief Executive, NCT

£225 per place or £175 for two or more places.
