The Professional Capabilities Framework for Social Workers provides a single, comprehensive framework for organisations and individual social work managers to use to support professional development and make informed judgements about the level of professional capability that social workers are operating at throughout their careers. It's five post qualifying levels of capability provide a pathway for development from Newly Qualified to Strategic levels of working.
This short course is aimed at operational and strategic managers, and professional leads, and will enable attendees to understand the PCF and how it can be used to
- support organisational and professional development
- assess the level of capacity of social workers at the point of interview
- integrate with appraisal and progression systems
The PCF is an essential pre-requisite for successful implementation the Social Work reform program, the Munro reforms, and supports professional autonomy and defendable decision making.
The course will be an opportunity to use the new tools and materials developed by Skill for Care to support  PCF  implementation which are about to be released.

Date 10th & 11th of October 2013

The course will draw on team expertise in developing and implementing the PCF both nationally and at a practical organisational level.
