Over 100,000 people use NHS Networks, the free-to-use virtual networking and document sharing platform. These training webinars arm you with the knowledge and skills to join them.

The service provides space to share documents and set up online discussions with colleagues. Set up a network to keep in touch with other people in your organisation or with shared interest groups across organisational boundaries.

It’s a powerful tool to aid communication and knowledge sharing in a world where opportunities for meeting face to face are becoming rarer and harder to justify. Networks can be open to all or available only to a closed group defined by the administrator.

NHS Networks is safe and secure and officially approved for use on the NHS IT infrastructure – unlike other networking platforms and social media.

With NHS Networks you can:

  • Publish and share documents
  • Share slide shows and video
  • Set up and manage discussion forums
  • Manage membership
  • Automatically alert members to new content
  • Link with other relevant networks
  • Promote your network’s events

These webinars are for network leads/admins who already use NHS Networks and wish to know more and for those just getting started.

New users will get all the information they need to set off on the right foot, including how to create a network, how to set up a forum, and a step by step guide to adding and publishing content.

Existing users will have the opportunity to refresh their knowledge, find out about some of the more advanced features in the Toolbox and have their questions answered by the team who set up and have run NHS Networks since 2009.

The sessions will also equip you to train others in your organisation to use NHS Networks and run networks of their own.

Part one covers the basics of setting up and running a network including how to create a forum and publish documents. Part two covers some of the more advanced features and allows plenty of time for questions. The sessions are a month apart, giving you time to practice what you learned in session one and bring any queries to session two.

The training comprises two webinars each lasting an hour. Cost per participant is £75.

  • Session one: Creating a network and getting started 12.30–13.30pm, 18 October 2017
  • Session two: Advanced features and your questions answered 12.30–13.30pm, 16 November 2017

NHS Networks is run by PCC CIC, a social enterprise with roots in the NHS. Proceeds from the webinars contribute to the running and development costs of the service and enable us to continue to offer it free at the point of use in the spirit of the NHS.
