Energizing the NHS: The Implications in BME Communities:
- The implications of the proposed changes to the NHS on black and minority communities, individuals and organisations.
- Devolving power & responsibility for commissioning services to local consortia of GP practices who will commission majority of NHS services for their patients.
- Promoting patient & carers involvement via embedding principle of “shared decision-making” to become the norm: no decision about me without me, creating HealthWatch, enabling patients to rate services and other measures.
- Your response and feedback to the issues raised in the NHS White Paper.
The event will:
- Raise awareness of the prospective changes to the NHS landscape
- Recognise & discuss important issues from workers from black & minority ethnic perspective
- Help to identify further opportunities to engage & contribute in the emerging NHS background
- Provide direct feedback to the Department of Health on the Consultations
- Understand Self Directed Care & Race equality
- Develop BME Health and Social Care Providers & Launch BME Consortium
