This seminar will provide an opportunity to discuss the next steps for emergency care, and the delivery of a 7 day NHS.

Timed to follow the NHS England review of urgent and emergency care, which is currently out for consultation, delegates will look at the future structure of emergency services, as well as the financial and organisational pressures faced by providers, and the commissioning challenges for out of hours care more widely.

The agenda includes keynote addresses from Professor Keith Willett, Domain 3 Director, Acute Episodes of Care, Medical Directorate, NHS England; Nigel Edwards, Senior Fellow, The King’s Fund and Dr Chris Roseveare, Chair, Sub-Committee on 7 Day Provision, Academy of Medical Royal Colleges and President, Society for Acute Medicine.

The meeting will bring policymakers from Parliament together with senior government officials involved in this area of public policy, healthcare professionals from across primary, secondary and urgent care, ambulance and other emergency services, representatives of the healthcare and pharmaceutical industries, academia, charities and user groups, and representatives of the national and trade press.
