Creative use of the contracting process is a critical factor in making new models of care happen. Without bold, robust contracting the theoretical benefits of more efficient, better integrated and higher quality care systems will not be realised.

Building on the success of previous innovative contracting events, PCC will share current good practice with commissioners and providers. The event uses case studies to allow delegates to explore how learning from other parts of the country can be reapplied to their local aspirations.

This event is relevant for all organisations and staff involved in shaping new models of care and local solutions, particularly those involved in commissioning and contracting. It will cover:

  • Establishing the foundations for success
  • Legal frameworks
  • Contracting types and clarity about what to use and when
  • Primary care
  • Non primary care
  • Case studies and examples of what others have done
  • Contracting structures
  • Alliance
  • Prime contractor models (including corporate joint venture, integrator and lead provider)
  • Lessons learned from use of the contracting process.

The event gives delegates the opportunity to compare their thoughts and to discuss different approaches and potential solutions with one another and with legal experts.
