Clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) manage conflicts of interest as part of their day-to-day activities. Effective handling of such conflicts is crucial for the maintenance of public trust in the commissioning system.
It also serves to give confidence to patients, providers, Parliament and tax payers that CCG commissioning decisions are robust, fair, transparent and offer value for money. Often the perception of conflict alone is enough to cause concern.

PCC and Kennedys Law have designed this workshop to look at both corporate and individual accountability of commissioning organisations. The workshop uses case studies and scenarios to bring these issues to life and to allow you an opportunity to discuss and explore practical solutions to the problems that you face.
The workshop will cover:
• Acts, regulations, statutory guidance and legal duties
• Identifying and managing conflicts of interest to ensure integrity of decision making processes
• Potential challenges to decision making - judicial review, competition and procurement law
• Your arsenal – disclosure, assessing competence, NHS provider contracts and powers of intervention.

It is suitable for commissioning directors and senior managers in CCGs, local authorities, NHS England teams, provider organisations and others who work in the primary care sector.
