The Patient Information Forum is delighted to be holding an event on Communicating Benefits and Risks in Health Information on Wednesday 10 October 2018 at the Royal College of Anaesthetists in London.

Agenda sessions

Sessions will include the opportunity to speed network with attendees, discuss your challenges and solutions in communicating benefits and risks in a dedicated interactive session and share research, case studies and top tips on the following themes:

  • Enhancing the use of scientific evidence to judge the potential benefits and harms of medicines
  • Demonstration on how augmented (AR) and virtual reality (VR) can be linked to medicines and medicines services, and enhance consultations
  • How to avoid misleading or confusing with numbers
  • NICE’s work on shared decision-making, including its work on patient decision aids and the NICE SDM collaborative
  • The balance between risk / side effect and efficacy in disease modifying drugs for M5
  • Explaining how to reduce your risk of dementia
  • Learning from the Prevention of Cerebral Palsy in PreTerm Labour (PReCePT) project
