What is it about?

Bringing coders and clinicians together for one day only, this unique and empowering forum will help clinical coders to code more accurately by offering an insight into co-morbidities, and medicine for respiratory conditions, sepsis, vascular surgery and paediatric orthopaedic and trauma surgery as well as showcasing an update on the profession from PACC-UK.

 

Key learning outcomes

This conference is returning for a fourth year to create a space in which clinicians and coders can share knowledge and enable accurate clinical coding. The agenda for 2018 will include:

  • Clinical insight session on co-morbidity variables: when co-morbidities are and are not relevant
  • Clinical coders’ discussion on best practice for coding co-morbidities
  • Clinical insight session on medicine: understanding the common challenges of medicine for respiratory conditions
  • Clinical coders’ discussion on subjectivity and variability of coding in medical specialities
  • Clinical insight session surgery: paediatric orthopaedic and trauma surgery, and vascular graft surgery
  • Clinical insight session on sepsis: when sepsis is the main condition treated
  • Clinical coders’ discussion on their current position and future expectations
