NHS Network TAI CHI FOR HEALTH & REHABILITATION LONDON & UK SOUTH CPD GROUP - Network of Professionals using Tai Chi and Qigong Exercises for Rehabilitation, Falls Prevention and Promotion of Health
OUR AIMS: 1) Offer networking between professional teachers and instructors, regular structured directed practice for its members as a part of their regular continuous personal and professional development. 2) Bridge the gap and encourage joined practice, learning and cooperation between Physical therapy/rehabilitation, Tai chi for health institute programmes and traditional schools or Tai Chi Chuan. 3) Work with the Tai Chi Union for GB and other umbrella organisations within UK to develop and unify skill level for instructors working in the NHS using Tai Chi and Qigong movements/exercises to encourage regular daily physical activity. 4) Support the use of Tai Chi in retraining of postural stability, lower and upper limb strength, coordination while offering opportunity for dual and multitasking between physical but also cognitive components. 5) Promote Tai Chi as a suitable physical exercise with challenge to memory, attention and concentration for all levels of abilities.
