The Wessex Paediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition Network (WESPGHAN) includes paediatric units from St Mary's Hospital Portsmouth, Royal Hampshire County Hospital Winchester, Dorset County Hospital Dorchester, St Richards Hospital Chichester, North Hampshire Hospital Basingstoke, Salisbury Healthcare NHS Trust Salisbury, Poole General Hospital Poole, Frimley Park Hospital Frimley Park, St Mary's Hospital Isle of Wight & Guernsey Medical Specialists Groups Hospitals in Guernsey and Jersey and University Hospital Southampton. NHS Network Thames Valley & Wessex Paediatric Critical Care ODN
The Paediatric Critical Care ODN works inclusively with the 20+ District General Hospitals across Thames Valley and Wessex and will improve pathways of care for patients and their families. ODNs can ensure that all the systems work together to optimise the patient experience by bringing together patients and their families, hospitals, commissioners and other stakeholders in the design and delivery of consistent high quality services. The hospitals in the TV & W Paediatric Critical Care Network have services ranging from Level 3 specialist intensive care units at Oxford University Hospital Foundation Trust and University Hospital Southampton Foundation Trust, to general paediatric district general hospital care across the wider region. Oxford and Southampton also jointly host the Southampton Oxford Retrieval Team (SORT), which is a collaboration between two paediatric intensive care units (PICUs). It delivers expert paediatric critical care to hospitals throughout the south of England during transfer and via a telephone advice line.
